Job Summary
Khaas Design & Engineering Private Limited is seeking a Civil Design Engineer based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The role involves assisting with the development of detailed 3D structural and piping models, conducting structural and pipe stress analyses, and preparing various engineering documentation and drawings in compliance with project and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating 3D models of structural and piping systems using engineering drawings and design data.
- Conduct structural analysis using STAAD.Pro software under senior engineer supervision.
- Support pipe stress analysis tasks employing CAESAR II tools.
- Develop structural steel detailing and 3D models utilizing Tekla Structures software.
- Update and maintain engineering models ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive design calculation reports, analysis outputs, and technical documents using Microsoft Word.
- Review engineering drawings, design inputs, and project specifications prior to initiating modeling or analysis.
- Adjust structural and piping models in response to design review feedback.
- Create fabrication, general arrangement, and shop drawings as directed.
- Verify model accuracy including dimensional checks, material properties, connectivity, and loading conditions.
- Assist with preparing material take-offs, Bill of Materials (BOM), and quantity estimation reports.
- Maintain systematic file organization and control versions of engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with senior engineers during design reviews and for clarifying technical queries.
- Adhere to company engineering procedures, quality standards, and document management policies.
- Engage in internal training programs to enhance engineering software skills.
- Gain knowledge of relevant engineering standards such as IS, AISC, ASCE, API, ASME, DNV, Eurocodes, and client-specific specifications.
- Contribute to the project team's timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Report daily work progress and meet project deadlines.
