Position Overview

Working as a Cashier at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to enhance retail and customer service skills. A Cashier plays a key role in delivering outstanding service during checkout to foster customer satisfaction and loyalty. This role also involves safeguarding company assets by carefully monitoring transactions and maintaining attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome all customers courteously and with a friendly attitude.
• Efficiently handle purchase transactions, including deactivating merchandise per the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Promote company-sponsored services such as credit card programs, product protection plans, and charity initiatives.
• Assist customers in bagging and loading their purchases.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and maintaining a clean work station.
• Ensure the security and integrity of the cash register by careful money handling, following company policies, and staying vigilant of the surroundings.
• Refer transaction-related or service issues to a Customer Service Manager when needed.
• Receive cross-training to assist with Self Check-out operations.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.90 CAD.
