Care Assistant

Job Overview

Sunbeam House Services is seeking dedicated Care Assistants for its Day Service locations in Kilcoole and Bray, County Wicklow. This role is focused on supporting individuals to realize their personal goals, enhance their potential, and foster active participation within both their residential services and wider community.

Responsibilities

• Implement a personalized, client-centered approach aligned with individuals' wishes and objectives.
• Uphold and protect clients' rights, privacy, dignity, and autonomy in decision-making.
• Proactively identify and encourage new interests and community roles for clients.
• Attend to all aspects of client wellbeing, including health management and personal care.
• Assist clients in acquiring life skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and building self-confidence.

Requirements

• Possession of at least a Major QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or an equivalent validated foreign qualification.
• A genuine enthusiasm for empowering and promoting the welfare of those supported.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
• Familiarity with HIQA standards and pertinent legislation.
• Valid full driving license and access to a car.
• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in Ireland.

Compensation and Terms

Compensation will be aligned with the HSE consolidated pay scales, reflective of qualifications and relevant professional experience. Working hours are from Monday to Friday.
