About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) India Pvt Ltd is at the forefront of transforming computing paradigms. We seek highly skilled professionals to join our enterprise business team, specifically for the public sector vertical. The role requires a blend of business acumen and technical understanding to position AWS as a leading cloud services provider within government sectors across India.
Key Responsibilities
- Forge and maintain strategic relationships with senior Public Sector leaders to promote AWS cloud solutions as the preferred technology platform.
- Lead and coordinate a pan-India sales team collaborating closely with AWS Solution Architects, Partner teams, Marketing, Enterprise Support, and Professional Services to drive business outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities within CRM and related systems.
- Develop and present persuasive value propositions and narratives demonstrating AWS cloud services capabilities and benefits.
- Drive revenue growth by formulating and executing detailed account plans that surpass defined targets.
- Exhibit technical knowledge to clearly explain cloud computing fundamentals, infrastructure services (such as servers, storage, data center services), and internet technologies like firewalls and load balancers.
- Conduct thorough preparation for client meetings, including stakeholder mapping and research.
- Ensure collaboration with cross-functional teams on pitching and product demonstrations.
- Maintain high standards of Salesforce (SFDC) data hygiene and timely communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Team Overview
The AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) team is responsible for accelerating revenue, adoption, and expansion across a spectrum of clients from mid-sized businesses to large enterprises, including public sector entities. The AWS Global Support team collaborates closely with these customers to enable critical applications on AWS platforms.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Seven or more years of experience in sales or account management roles.
- Proven ability to engage and present effectively to senior executives including C-level decision makers.
- Consistent record of surpassing sales quotas and key performance indicators over a minimum of five years.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, adept at engaging all organizational levels.
- Technical competencies encompassing cloud computing, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), web services, and enterprise software solutions.
- Established network and relationships within the public sector are advantageous.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Background in sales or management related to infrastructure or cloud technologies.
- Experience working with business unit leaders and technical teams to drive sales.
- Educational qualifications preferably include Engineering or MBA; technical degrees like engineering, computer science, or Management Information Systems are a plus.
- Experience in entrepreneurial roles or in establishing new business verticals.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge conventional approaches, actively competing in difficult or emerging markets.
