Role Summary
This is a newly created, high-impact business development position based in Central North Island, covering the Bay of Plenty, Waikato, and Hawke's Bay. The role is focused on growing the lubricants business, building client relationships, and developing new commercial opportunities across the region. A strong background in solution selling is essential, and interest in the oil industry is preferred. The company is looking for someone who can manage a territory strategically and help expand market share in a fast-growing area.
What You Will Do
- Develop new business opportunities in the commercial and automotive oil market.
- Build new customer relationships and present products and services to win commercial accounts.
- Strengthen relationships with existing clients and respond quickly to their needs and concerns.
- Monitor competitor activity, industry movements, and market demand to shape sales plans.
- Represent the lubricant portfolio confidently and provide tailored product guidance to customers.
- Work toward sales targets and provide regular updates and reporting on results.
- Handle pricing discussions and contract negotiations while coordinating with sales and branch teams.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant has a proven background in business development or sales, preferably in lubricants or a related industrial field. The role requires strong solution-selling and cross-selling ability, the confidence to develop long-term customer partnerships, and excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Success in the role also depends on being self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently. Regular travel across the region is required.
