About the Role
We are seeking an expert Business Analyst to join our team focusing on Capital Markets. This contract position is based in Toronto, ON, with a hybrid work schedule requiring onsite presence two days a week (Monday and Tuesday). The contract lasts six months with a strong chance of extension, starting August 17, 2026. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime as approved by management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle business analysis activities from gathering requirements to implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand current workflows and identify areas for enhancement.
- Translate complex business needs into comprehensive business and functional requirements, user stories, process diagrams, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements throughout the entire project life.
- Facilitate workshops and work with various stakeholders to reach agreement.
- Review deliverables to guarantee high quality and completeness.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing, oversee defect handling, and aid smooth production rollouts.
- Analyze data and processes to provide recommendations that support improvements and insights.
Required Qualifications
- Over 7 years as a Business Analyst in Financial Services or Capital Markets.
- Strong familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle and hands-on experience working in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience drafting business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, process flowcharts, data mapping, and acceptance criteria.
- Proficient with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
- Outstanding skills in analysis, problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and management.
- Experience in areas including Debt Capital Markets, Capital Markets, Fixed Income Trading, Syndication, Investment Banking, or Global Markets.
- Comprehensive understanding of bonds, debt issuance processes, book building, allocations, pricing workflows, trade lifecycles, and settlement procedures.
- Experience working with platforms such as Bloomberg, DirectBooks, IPREO, Salesforce, or equivalent systems.
- Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or related data reporting and visualization tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field.
Compensation
- T4 rate: $60.96/hour
- Incorporated Contractors: $69.20/hour
Work Conditions
This role requires presence onsite two days per week (Monday and Tuesday) with the remainder remote, typical working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required with manager approval.
