Role Overview
Redline Cranes is hiring an experienced Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant for its Kewdale workshop in Perth, WA. The role sits within bookkeeping and small-practice accounting and is designed for someone who can confidently manage the day-to-day finance function in a busy, growing business.
The company is a Western Australian business focused on crane hire, crane servicing and repairs, crane sales, major inspections, spare parts, and engineering design, innovation, and research & development. The preferred arrangement is full-time, but the employer is open to school hours, part-time work, and flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.
Key Duties
You will work closely with the Business Support & Accounts Manager, company directors, and an external accounting firm that handles BAS lodgements, taxation guidance, statutory compliance, and year-end financial reporting. Your main focus will be bookkeeping and finance, with some general office administration support when needed.
- Keep financial records accurate and up to date, including data entry
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
- Perform bank, credit card, and supplier reconciliations
- Run payroll and prepare payroll reports
- Track debtors and follow up on customer accounts
- Monitor cash flow
- Process supplier payments
- Support month-end reporting
- Maintain the general ledger
- Compile financial details for review by external accountants
- Assist with recurring billing and service invoicing
- Provide professional customer service and respond to account queries
- Support debtor management and collections
- Assist with general administrative duties as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business

Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of their work while contributing positively to a supportive team.
- At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounts
- Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or an equivalent qualification
- Strong Microsoft Office ability, especially Excel
- Experience with MYOB or comparable accounting software
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated approach with an interest in improving processes and systems
Preferred Experience
- Payroll experience
- Knowledge of BAS preparation
- Experience with ServiceM8 or similar job management software
- Background in trade, construction, or service-based industries
- Exposure to inventory management
- Experience supporting government grants or Research & Development incentive programs
- Ability to work as a multi-skilled generalist in a small or medium-sized business
