Job description

Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who prioritizes customer service and is eager to positively impact our team. If you can bring transferable skills, a strong work ethic, and a great personality, we encourage you to consider joining us.

The Children’s Health Hub serves as a centralized access point for multiple children's community services, offering a single phone number and email for service users. It also supports the Speech and Language Therapy Team administratively.

Role Purpose

The Team Administrator/Call Handler for Beds & Luton Children’s Health Hub will be the initial contact point for communication within Bedfordshire & Luton Children and Young People's Community Health Services, ensuring that service users are directed to the right resources promptly and efficiently. The position is based at our Kempston office in Woburn Court.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line communication via telephone, interacting with parents, carers, healthcare staff, and professionals.
  • Utilize NHS pathways to assess inquiries, resolving issues or referring callers appropriately.
  • Manage and prioritize service emails efficiently and calmly.
  • Recognize personal limits and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on communications and administrative tasks.
  • Perform administrative duties on SystmOne, including scanning documents to patient records, referral management, task monitoring, updating user details, rescheduling appointments, and registering transferred individuals.
  • Accurately log all contacts per established protocols and pathways.
  • Maintain focus while managing a varied and sometimes unpredictable workload.
  • Deliver excellent communication and outstanding customer service.
  • Exhibit resilience when handling sensitive calls and information professionally.
