Role Summary
This position handles a range of customer banking transactions at the teller counter while identifying client needs and directing them to suitable products, services, or other bank teams. The goal is to provide consistently excellent customer service and support branch sales and referral activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Use solid knowledge of bank offerings to identify customer needs and suggest relevant products or services.
- Take part in the bank’s referral program and use the available systems or tools to track results effectively.
- Work toward assigned referral targets on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis.
- Process cash drawer activity and terminal balancing each day.
- Handle transactions such as savings, checking, and Holiday Savings deposits, loan payments, safe deposit box rental payments, money orders, official checks, and cash withdrawals.
- Accept checks for cashing in line with FNB’s check handling procedures.
- Complete all required training courses successfully.
- Show flexibility and help build a cooperative, team-oriented work environment.
- Support other branch tasks related to money shipments, orders, and similar activities.
- Take on additional branch duties beyond transaction processing when needed.
- Manage cash, customer transactions, and customer data in accordance with FNB security policies and procedures.
- Make outbound sales calls to existing and potential clients as needed.
- Adapt to changing schedules to meet branch staffing and service needs.
- Protect the confidentiality of all customer personal and business information.
- Accept projects and other responsibilities assigned by a supervisor to support the bank.
- Work positively and professionally with teammates and the public in a team setting.
- Complete all mandatory and optional training, including BSA and Anti-Money Laundering requirements, while following all applicable rules and regulations.
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous cash handling experience is required.
- Basic computer proficiency is needed, along with the ability to use a calculator, typewriter, telephone, fax machine, and related office equipment.
- Prior customer service and/or sales experience is preferred at any level.
