Job Summary
This role involves overseeing the assembly zone in a greenfield Lithium-ion battery production line, ensuring readiness before the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) launch by training junior staff. The role requires collaborative coordination with multifaceted teams such as process engineering, construction, HR, and maintenance to establish optimized operations post-SOP.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and ensure SOPs, work instructions, and check sheets are finalized and clearly understood by team leads and operators.
- Achieve and maintain target line/zone throughput, promptly escalating issues.
- Maintain 100% compliance with all statutory regulations.
- Oversee 5S and autonomous maintenance compliance within the assembly zone.
- Ensure safety and security of workforce and equipment.
- Coordinate with maintenance for timely equipment availability and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Implement skill development programs targeting 3x3 versatility skill levels for each operation in Assembly A Zone.
- Collaborate with quality assurance, supply chain, maintenance, and process engineering teams to ensure smooth assembly operations.
- Manage a team of 50+ workers on the assembly line to meet production and SQDC KPIs.
- Organize and direct all production activities during shifts, addressing abnormalities and quality issues using standardized problem-solving frameworks.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into MES and SAP systems to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Manage waste disposal in compliance with set protocols.
Required Experience and Skills
- 8-10 years' experience leading production areas in lithium-ion cell or EV battery pack manufacturing plants, or solar cell production.
- Comprehensive expertise in assembly operations including cutting, stacking, ultrasonic and laser welding, plus minor troubleshooting skills.
- Strong knowledge in managing product exceptions, handling non-conformities, and CAPA processes.
- Proficient in standard problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, and the 7 QC tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with cutting and stacking machinery and laser welding equipment.
- Familiarity with MiniTab software for statistical analysis.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering. Six Sigma certification is preferred.
