Role Overview
Join the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi as an Asset Manager based in Gisborne, Te Tairāwhiti, working full-time to optimize New Zealand’s state highway assets through technical and data-driven approaches. This permanent position involves managing the development and oversight of operational asset maintenance and renewal programs across the state highway corridor, ensuring efficient network performance and value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply your technical knowledge to enhance the management and maintenance of state highway assets.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to devise practical, evidence-based maintenance strategies.
- Cooperate closely with specialists and contractors to maintain safe and reliable transport networks.
- Manage traffic counting contracts and validate field conditions to support asset performance monitoring.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced in using asset management systems and principles within the transport infrastructure sector.
- Adept at translating complicated technical data into actionable maintenance programs.
- Familiar with pavement engineering concepts and highway surface condition data.
- Skilled in conducting field validations, network inspections, and evaluating asset conditions.
- Strong analytical abilities coupled with excellent communication skills.
- Holds a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Asset Management, or a related field, or possesses equivalent experience.
