API Release Engineer

Role overview

The API Release Engineer will plan, coordinate, and carry out API releases across both on-premises and cloud environments. The focus is on delivering stable deployments, limiting disruption to services, and following the client’s change and release governance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of Integration CoE API releases in on-premises and cloud setups.
• Monitor readiness tasks across projects, flagging risks and helping close issues so release schedules stay on track.
• Work closely with API delivery leads, squads, and API engineers to confirm release scope, map dependencies, and resolve blockers.
• Prepare runbooks and coordinate walkthroughs and approvals with support teams, service delivery managers, and service management.
• Set up and maintain change records in ServiceNow in line with the client’s change-management workflow and quality expectations.
• Secure the necessary people and resources so every deployment activity is covered and aligned with agreed timelines.
• Present Integration CoE change activities in Change Management Forums and obtain approval for release progression.
• Spot and put forward improvements to the release process where possible.
