Role Overview

We are seeking an AI Engineer based in Germany to join a partner company. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and deploying advanced AI solutions that provide significant business advantages within a modern SaaS framework. Collaborating within a Data & AI team, you will develop production-grade large language model (LLM) applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and AI-enabled workflows, working closely with engineering and business units. This position offers comprehensive responsibility over the AI development process from problem identification and model coding through deployment and ongoing monitoring in cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement AI solutions utilizing LLMs, RAG, and other machine learning methods for deployment in production.
Manage the full lifecycle of AI features including problem definition, data handling, model construction, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iterative enhancement.
Create and maintain scalable pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model inference, and system integration.
Integrate AI functionalities within cloud platforms ensuring optimal performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
Partner with software engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to incorporate AI capabilities into customer products and internal platforms.
Utilize advanced AI-assisted development tools to elevate engineering efficiency and establish AI-focused best practices.
Discover and evaluate new AI opportunities to optimize workflows, improve products, and deliver measurable business impact.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 3 years in software development, with at least 1 year specializing in AI or machine learning engineering.
Demonstrated experience deploying LLM-driven applications or RAG solutions in live production settings.
Proficiency in Python programming, including expertise with FastAPI, async programming, and contemporary backend development techniques.
Hands-on experience integrating AI solutions on cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, with knowledge of scalable distributed architectures.
Strong understanding of databases, data processing methods, algorithm design, statistics, and core machine learning concepts.
Experience with AI-powered coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalents within professional environments.
Knowledge of MLOps principles, vector databases, semantic search technologies, and AI frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain is advantageous.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, adaptable to remote, asynchronous, cross-functional teams.
