Job Overview and Responsibilities
This role involves leading the development and continuous improvement of the organization's accounting policies, systems, and procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and accounting standards. The accountant will supervise the application of these policies, resolving any arising discrepancies to maintain precise and compliant financial data.
Collaboration across departments is essential to facilitate effective communication and execution of accounting guidelines company-wide. The role requires a thorough understanding of the accounting processes across various business groups and modules. Establishing and maintaining quality control systems for the accounting shared service center is a key function, including conducting daily quality checks.
The position demands consolidating operational accounting data, developing performance metrics, and preparing data visualizations and dashboards. The accountant will also drive process standardization, product development, and optimization of accounting operation tools like policy libraries, standard operating procedures, and process inventories.
Serving as a project manager, the candidate will lead initiatives to enhance processes, mitigate risks, and improve user experience within the center.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, including a CPA certification.
- Experience working in financial shared service centers or business process outsourcing settings, with knowledge of shared service management systems.
- Deep familiarity with the operational structures of diversified companies and substantial accounting experience.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to mobilize cross-functional teams and coordinate resources effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to manage interdepartmental coordination and problem resolution.
- Aptitude for rapid learning, handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and strong written and verbal reporting abilities.
- Integrity, positivity, initiative, responsibility, and resilience under pressure.
- High ethical standards and discretion in managing confidential company and financial information.
