Warehouse Assistant

Role Overview

DHL Global Forwarding, Freight is looking for a Warehouse Assistant in Doha, Qatar. The role sits within a major international logistics organization operating across more than 220 countries. This position supports day-to-day airfreight gateway operations, helps build and grow trade lane consolidations for South African export movements, and works with the wider network to strengthen gateway activity for nearby countries and local coastal branches. The role also supports the ACC Manager with rate and capacity procurement when needed.

Key Responsibilities

This position covers receiving, material handling, picking, packing, and dispatch activities, with a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and product condition.

• Unload incoming goods, separate them correctly, and palletize them while following batch and expiry requirements.
• Check shipments for damage, shortages, or defects and report findings to the supervisor.
• Receive inbound material accurately against RTS using an RF device.
• Complete put-away for inbound stock after receipt and after final release.
• Use material handling equipment properly and support preventive upkeep of that equipment.
• Update task status promptly and escalate issues to the team leader.
• Verify return items and pass details to CSR for documentation.
• Read shipment orders and confirm the material matches the work order.
• Inform the supervisor about any order-related issues or variances.
• Adjust shipment orders when there are shortages, expiry issues, or batch differences as required.
• Check inventory to confirm stock availability and maintain product stock in the work area.
• Carry out pallet stretch wrapping and related value-added services.
• Pick orders according to the pick ticket and perform QC and packing based on customer requirements.
• Pack and ship temperature-sensitive products in line with packaging rules.
• Use truck space efficiently while maintaining all safety precautions.
• Ask the team leader for the next assignment when current tasks are complete.
• Prepare and pack dispatch orders in line with shipment instructions and customer needs.
• Confirm label quantities and raise shortages when identified.
• Sort orders by delivery destination.
• Match packed material with the shipment order before dispatch.
• Report any packing or shipment issues to the supervisor.
• Follow special packing instructions for temperature-sensitive goods.
• Monitor packaging supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or general education qualification is required. The ideal candidate should have less than 2 years of experience.
