About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Veterinarian specializing in breeding management to join a large-scale livestock farm in Doha, Qatar. This full-time position demands extensive practical experience with commercial breeding operations involving large livestock populations. The role focuses on optimizing reproductive performance across various species by implementing robust breeding programs and monitoring fertility and pregnancy outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and oversee breeding schedules, reproductive programs, and fertility assessments tailored to animal health and production status.
- Conduct evaluations of estrus cycles, perform artificial insemination programs, and supervise conception and calving/kidding processes.
- Manage reproductive health by diagnosing and treating infertility issues, uterine infections, dystocia, abortions, and other related conditions.
- Develop and administer preventive veterinary health plans, including vaccination and deworming protocols.
- Monitor herd health, ensuring disease prevention measures and strict biosecurity compliance.
- Collaborate with farm management to maintain optimal environmental, nutritional, and housing conditions supporting fertility.
- Lead and train veterinary and breeding teams, promoting safety and adherence to animal welfare standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records for breeding activities, reproductive health, and herd performance metrics.
- Analyze reproductive KPIs such as conception rate, calving success, abortion rates, and offspring survival, initiating corrective actions when necessary.
- Supervise pregnancy monitoring, maternity management, and neonatal care, including managing high-risk pregnancies and difficult births.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM/BVSc or equivalent) is required. Advanced specialization in Animal Reproduction, Theriogenology, or related fields is highly valued.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of direct experience with large-scale livestock breeding operations, preferably in commercial or intensive farm settings.
- Proven competencies in artificial insemination and pregnancy diagnostics.
- Preferred familiarity with dairy, cattle, sheep, goat, camel, stud, and intensive commercial breeding farms.
Technical Expertise
- Livestock reproductive examinations and ultrasound diagnostics.
- Heat detection and monitoring protocols.
- Artificial insemination and breeding program oversight.
- Reproductive disorder treatment and herd health management.
- Obstetrics management including dystocia intervention and neonatal care.
- Veterinary record keeping and breeding database management.
- Biosecurity enforcement and disease control measures.

- Comfort working outdoors under varied farm conditions, including handling animals directly and responding to emergencies.
