Job description
Job Purpose
The role involves supporting mining operations by ensuring continuous and reliable electrical power supply through various sources such as solar, diesel generators, and grid power. Maintaining electrical systems is essential to uphold production flow and safety standards within the mining environment.
Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Perform monthly safety audits, develop and implement action plans to ensure adherence to legal safety requirements, and promote electrical safety awareness and training within the team.
- Manage the integration of Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB) into the solar power systems, increase reliance on renewable energy resources, and oversee safe disposal methods for electrical waste.
- Focus on minimizing unscheduled outages, effectively utilize available resources, identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, and maintain control over inventory of spare electrical parts.
- Track and regulate energy consumption, verify expense claims promptly, and contribute to enhancing financial effectiveness related to electrical operations.
- Ensure high operational reliability of electrical systems in ropeways, crushers, and workshops; provide swift fault response and report performance metrics regularly to management.
