Position Overview
The Supply Planner will ensure an ideal equilibrium between inventory availability and sourcing activities to satisfy customer demand. This role plays a key part in supporting the organization's targeted service levels and working capital management by overseeing forecast validation, inventory level monitoring, and collaborating extensively with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure punctual and efficient supply chain execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage finished goods inventory comprehensively, including both locally and internationally sourced products.
- Regularly update supply plans taking into account demand forecasts, supplier capacities, and shipment tracking.
- Carry out supply planning and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) functions in compliance with company policies, considering variables such as supplier lead times, minimum order quantities, product shelf life, import schedules, and logistical constraints.
- Design and sustain sourcing, replenishment, and purchasing plans, ensuring timely purchase requisition releases and maximizing the use of supplier contracts.
- Control finished goods inventory effectively by monitoring stock aging, managing expiry risks, and overseeing batch control.
- Optimize inventory controls by managing parameters like minimum, maximum, and safety stock aligned with corporate policies to strike a balance between service quality and capital tied up.
- Generate and distribute reports on Slow-Moving, Excess, and Obsolete (SLOB) inventory, identifying risks and coordinating mitigation strategies alongside Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and Quality teams.
- Periodically review inventory planning parameters and analyze their effect on stock health and working capital.
- Track sales and supply performance relative to budget and supplier agreements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree specializing in Economics, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Two to three years of relevant experience in supply planning.
- Preferably with experience in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or manufacturing sectors.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with statistical modeling approaches and planning software tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for cross-functional collaboration.
