Role Overview
As a Supplier Manager reporting to the Head of Specialist Manufacturers & Network, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of key strategic suppliers. This senior position demands autonomy and a combination of strategic leadership, operational oversight, and commercial expertise to ensure suppliers consistently deliver exceptional customer and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end relationships and account management for assigned strategic suppliers.
- Organize and lead periodic supplier reviews including monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual meetings; track and ensure resolution of action items.
- Define clear performance metrics, governance processes, and continuous improvement plans across the supplier portfolio.
- Hold suppliers accountable for service quality, customer satisfaction, contractual obligations, and corrective actions.
Required Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in supplier and category management with a commercial mindset capable of negotiation, influence, and holding partners accountable. Experience should include navigating between detailed operational issues and broad strategic priorities, with the ability to analyze trends and recommend necessary changes.
Experience within automotive, leasing, fleet services, roadside assistance, tyres, recovery, or other complex supplier environments is highly desirable. Proven leadership in managing strategic supplier portfolios is essential.
- Strong commercial acumen with a history of delivering quantifiable value.
- Understanding of rebates, pricing models, cost recovery, and supplier commercial mechanisms.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Familiarity with contract law and interpreting detailed supplier agreements.
