Role Overview

Located in the bustling industrial area of Pinkenba, this role demands a proactive supervisor capable of managing key responsibilities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage scheduling of all departmental work, ensuring completion within set turnaround times aligned with production plans.
- Lead and supervise the team by assigning tasks to skilled staff to optimize workflow and achieve department goals.
- Uphold rigorous quality control standards by enforcing adherence to established quality procedures.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, company policies, and promote a safe working environment.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, promptly addressing inefficiencies to maintain productivity.
- Develop team skills and oversight through Leading Hands, recognizing high performers and coaching those who need improvement.
- Coordinate operations with other supervisors and the Operations Manager for seamless departmental interactions.
- Identify training needs for staff and oversee implementation of training programs to enhance capabilities.
- Supervise maintenance and repair of departmental equipment to ensure operational reliability.
- Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement through identifying enhancement opportunities and applying lean manufacturing principles.
- Align products and services with customer requirements to provide stakeholder value consistently.
- Oversee estimated work orders, communicate changes, and manage target hours to meet customer expectations and address inefficiencies.
- Lead various meetings such as daily, weekly, and supervisory, fostering organized and effective communication.
- Manage inventory and ordering of workshop consumables to guarantee production support without interruption.
- Maintain a structured reporting routine covering production updates, challenges, expenditures, and team development for informed decisions.
- Carry out additional tasks and projects as directed by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous supervisory experience, preferably in mining, heavy engineering, maintenance, or heavy earth-moving sectors.
- Essential trade qualifications relevant to the industry.
- Project management certifications are advantageous.
- Preferred possession of high-risk licenses including forklift, rigger, and dogman qualifications.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and general administrative abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to inspire and guide team members effectively.
- Excellent decision-making, time management, and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding and commitment to Occupational Health & Safety standards and legislation.
