Structural Drafter

Role overview

An opportunity is available for an intermediate-level draughtsperson to support a range of residential, commercial, and industrial developments throughout New Zealand. The work spans projects such as aged care facilities, processing plants, and housing developments. This position is open to candidates based in Christchurch and Wellington.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate CAD drawings that are clear, practical, and suitable for construction.
• Work closely with engineers, builders, and clients to keep communication smooth and projects moving forward.
• Track project schedules, balance competing priorities, and deliver work to required quality standards.
• Assist with job costing and help maintain productive relationships with both internal teams and external partners.

Required experience and skills

The ideal candidate will bring at least 4 years of relevant experience, along with strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals. Experience working in New Zealand is required. Advanced capability in Revit, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD platforms is important. You should also understand structural engineering basics such as load calculations, material behaviour, and construction techniques, and be able to prepare highly precise drawings with a strong eye for detail.
