Role Overview

The Stockperson / Cartpusher position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inviting shopping environment for customers. This role involves retrieving shopping carts from various locations including cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters, ensuring they are returned to their designated storage areas by following approved procedures. Through positive interactions with customers and commitment to safety protocols, the position supports efficient store operations while fostering skills in retail service, collaboration, and customer relations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Gather carts from cart corrals, the parking lot, and store perimeters and return them securely to storage locations using established Walmart procedures, ensuring accurate completion of logs.
• Respond quickly to requests from registers and Customer Service, assisting customers with carrying items and verifying purchase receipts when necessary.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks, including keeping restrooms tidy, adhering to proper chemical handling and disposal standards, and safely operating power equipment.
• Conduct required inspection of equipment prior to use and follow all safety and emergency protocols to maintain a hazard-free environment.
• Comply with workplace safety standards by using personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear and reflective vests, conducting safety sweeps, and adhering to company safety policies.
• Remain flexible to work a wide range of shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs demand.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage high volumes of tasks in a fast-paced setting effectively, remaining energized and focused particularly during overnight shifts.
• Handle a physically demanding workload, including standing for long durations, bending, lifting inventory or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive stocking and organization tasks with attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.
