Job Overview

The Site Shift Officer role is based in Indore and involves supervising operational safety and process management activities. The individual will support seamless plant functioning through active monitoring, maintenance coordination, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of safety procedures and protocols within field operations.
• Conduct risk evaluations and facilitate toolbox talks before any job initiation.
• Assist the shift team to ensure secure and efficient start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Support the maintenance manager by tracking process parameters, addressing operational issues, and accelerating maintenance work.
• Manage inventories of chemicals and catalysts diligently.
• Utilize SAP software effectively for operational tasks.
• Provide on-site supervision during shutdowns, startups, and preservation activities.
• Use the OMPro system proficiently to manage operations.
• Handle process emergencies and perform emergency shutdowns as needed.
• Contribute to special sampling and improvement trials when applicable.
• Collaborate with field and maintenance executives to speed up repair activities and ensure safe handover-transfer of equipment.
• Implement Process Improvement Opportunities (PIOs) and back improvement projects in assigned areas.
• Assist in onboarding and training newly recruited employees.
• Engage in discussions with supervisors and colleagues to enhance team performance.
• Take part in incident analysis and root cause investigation meetings.
• Maintain detailed shift logs for specific areas and equipment.
• Ensure absolute compliance with the work permit system.
• Conduct risk assessments during equipment handovers and process operations.
• Report near-miss incidents promptly to prevent accidents.
• Identify, propose, and validate opportunities for enhancing operations.
• Complete all required training programs relevant to personal development.

Educational Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical, Textile, or a related discipline with consistent academic performance.

Experience Requirements

• Previous experience managing a team in current or past roles is essential.
• Candidates should have either 2-3 years of experience with a degree or 5-6 years with a diploma in related fields.
