Work Environment and Locations

As a Service Technician, you'll service wind farms throughout regional Australia. This position requires residency within the region; it does not operate as a FIFO role. Locations include:

• Western Australia: Merredin, Jurien Bay, Geraldton
• South Australia: Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mt Gambier
• Victoria: Warrnambool, Ballarat, Sale
• New South Wales: Canberra/Goulburn, Inverell/Glen Innes
• Queensland: Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton
• Tasmania: Musselroe, Granville Harbour

Working hours are typically 8 hours per day with on-call duties approximately once every 3-4 weekends. Annual travel is about 50 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance while achieving service objectives.
• Perform regular service inspections adhering to Vestas' specifications, including replacement and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
• Ensure efficient turbine operation using condition monitoring and remote control systems.
• Maintain service vehicle and warehouse stock effectively by procuring necessary materials, tools, and spare parts.
• Assemble and service components following current standards and work instructions, utilizing internal or external cranes when required.

Candidate Qualifications and Competencies

• Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulics with enthusiasm to advance skills in these areas.
• Proficient computer skills and experience using tools or systems for work monitoring and documentation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards in the workplace.
• Capability to climb wind turbines and perform physical labour at height in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites as needed.
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.
• Independent, solution-focused, and highly organized in work assignments.
