Service Center Technician

Role Details

As a Service Center Technician, your responsibility will be to carry out reconditioning and repair tasks precisely following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or instructions from Senior Technicians or the Service Center Team Manager (SCTM). You will oversee team performance with an emphasis on waste reduction, document process improvements, and collaborate closely with senior team members to ensure quality, timely, and cost-efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute repairs and reconditioning adhering strictly to established procedures and under guidance.
• Monitor and evaluate processes and team output, targeting elimination of waste.
• Communicate clearly about improvements, deviations, and service execution aspects with senior technicians.
• Assist colleagues in rapid problem resolution and hands-on repair work.
• Address competence gaps by conducting training sessions, coaching, and SOP audit dialogues.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as PRP and Global Business projects to enhance key processes and tools.
• Share knowledge and support troubleshooting alongside other Alfa Laval service units.
• Coordinate and organize daily activities of the team or shift operations.
• Conduct field service activities including disassembly, assembly, and reconditioning of gasketed and welded plate heat exchangers (GPHE/WHE), as directed.
• Aid SCTM in preparing detailed reports for service jobs, both at the service center and in the field.
• Participate actively in Cell Status Board meetings, contributing to discussions on 5S, safety, and quality.
• Immediately escalate safety or operational risks to SCTM.

Working Environment & Safety

The position involves both office work and frequent presence on the shop floor, which requires using protective gear such as safety footwear, hearing protection, and eyewear. Candidates should be comfortable navigating environments that might include hazardous materials or varying work surfaces.
