Job description
Role Overview
The Record to Report (RTR) Specialist plays a crucial part in supporting hotel finance operations through the Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC). Core responsibilities include month-end closing activities, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, tax reporting preparations, and managing daily cash journal entries. This role reports directly to the Record to Report Supervisor.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage specific processes involved in month-end closing activities.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of the Fixed Cost Register to fully reflect all contractual agreements.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare VAT reconciliations and VAT returns in a timely manner.
- Review hotel profit and loss accounts and prepare necessary adjustments.
- Compile hotel monthly financial reports.
- Prepare daily cash journal entries.
- Support documentation preparation for internal and external audits as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as required by business operations.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Strong accounting foundation and comprehensive financial knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proactive approach with a self-starter mentality and a willingness to challenge existing processes.
- Ability to manage multiple demands and prioritize effectively under pressure.
- Competence in analyzing large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with both office and remote hotel team members.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial and Document Management Systems, particularly Navision and preferably Docuware.
- Ability to perform all core functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision following initial training.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- High school graduate as minimum education requirement.
- Relevant experience as a General Accountant or Income Auditor.
Preferred Qualifications
- University degree and/or professional accounting certification.
- Experience encompassing both General Accounting and Revenue Accounting roles.
- Arabic language proficiency is advantageous.
