This is a senior-level event operations opportunity for a candidate in the United States, working in a remote-first setup. The role focuses on building the operational backbone for a worldwide portfolio of high-impact conferences, roadshows, digital events, developer programs, and community activations. You will design the systems, workflows, and repeatable processes that help events scale smoothly while preserving a high standard of quality.
You will partner closely with teams across marketing, sales, product, and community to convert business priorities into well-run event experiences. The position calls for a strong mix of project management, operational rigor, vendor coordination, budgeting, and event technology expertise. It is well suited to someone who enjoys structured execution, continuous improvement, and creating scalable solutions in a fast-moving environment.
Core accountabilities
- Lead end-to-end operations for a global event portfolio, including conferences, developer-led programs, roadshows, digital events, and community activations, ensuring delivery stays on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business goals.
- Build and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocations across several simultaneous event programs.
- Create and refine scalable operational tools such as planning templates, run-of-show formats, and playbooks that improve consistency and execution efficiency.
- Oversee the full event technology stack, including registration systems, attendee tools, mobile apps, lead capture solutions, and related data processes.
- Work with vendors, agencies, venues, production partners, and internal teams to manage contracts, logistics, shipping, schedules, and onsite preparedness.
- Own event budgets from planning through reconciliation, including purchase orders, invoices, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, product, and community stakeholders to turn strategic objectives into practical operational plans.
- Support regional and third-party events by handling sponsorship commitments, booth operations, event presence, and lead management workflows.
- Measure event performance, pipeline contribution, and return on investment, and lead post-event analysis and improvement actions.
- Spot operational risks early, resolve complex issues, and establish systems that make it easier to expand event programs into new markets.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in event management, event operations, experiential marketing, or a related program management function.
- Demonstrated success managing complex events with multiple stakeholders, external partners, timelines, and budgets.
- Availability to travel around 35% of the time across North America, with possible international travel.
- Strong project management skills, along with excellent organization and a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience working with agencies, production partners, contracts, and event budgets.
- Working knowledge of event technology platforms, registration software, lead retrieval tools, mobile applications, and marketing technology workflows.
- Experience creating operational frameworks, processes, or playbooks that help event programs scale.
- Comfort using AI tools to streamline workflows and build repeatable operational processes.
- Background supporting developer, technical, enterprise, SaaS, cloud, or technology-oriented events is strongly preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment where priorities and requirements can shift.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, with comfort working across distributed remote teams.
