Role Overview

The Senior Business Analyst supports the Technology and Innovation Services division by bridging business requirements with technology solutions. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Digital Transformation, this role is integral in ensuring successful project delivery and process improvements by gathering and translating business needs, facilitating stakeholder coordination, and aligning outputs with organizational goals and architecture.

Key Duties

  • Serve as liaison among business units, stakeholders, vendors, and IT teams to support strategic initiatives from inception through delivery while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement and service quality.
  • Perform business analysis and project planning tasks including gathering, analyzing, documenting, and refining user requirements and business processes.
  • Create formal documentation such as business process maps, requirements matrices, test cases, training content, and standard operating procedures by translating subject matter expert input.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams including vendors, architects, and subject matter experts to design, implement, and support solutions that satisfy business and project requirements.
  • Assist in project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting using tools like schedules, budgets, risk and issue logs, stakeholder analysis, and status updates.
  • Proactively research and analyze data to identify opportunities for process enhancements, guiding continuous improvement that adds business value.
  • Support quality assurance and user acceptance testing processes by developing test plans, cases, and data, documenting outcomes, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Integrate change management principles to help manage project and requirement changes and aid stakeholder adoption.
  • Develop and deliver end-user training materials, guides, and support documentation for smooth implementation and transitions.
  • Stay current with best practices and trends in business analysis, project management, IT service management, change management, and municipal service delivery.
