Role Summary
The Senior Accountant position is a full-time role located in Doha, Qatar, requiring onsite presence. The incumbent will manage core accounting operations including maintaining the general ledger, producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensuring all activities comply with pertinent accounting standards and local regulations. Daily responsibilities encompass handling accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank and subsidiary ledger reconciliations, supervising cash flow, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting.
The role also involves analyzing financial results, supporting internal and external audit processes, enhancing financial controls and procedures, and generating comprehensive reports and financial insights for management review. Close coordination with both clinical and administrative teams is essential to aid in cost management, monitoring revenue, and facilitating financial decision-making.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in financial accounting and reporting, including effective general ledger management and preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Experienced with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to guide managerial decisions.
- Well-versed in accounting frameworks such as IFRS or their equivalents and knowledgeable about Qatar’s local tax and regulatory environment.
- Capable of managing accounts payable and receivable, performing account reconciliations, and monitoring cash flows and working capital.
- Familiarity with accounting software platforms and ERP systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills and competency in handling financial data tools.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing internal controls, supporting audit activities, and driving process improvements within finance operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities with a meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, especially in a healthcare setting requiring cross-departmental collaboration.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related discipline; professional accreditation such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is beneficial.
- Previous experience in senior-level accounting roles, ideally within healthcare or service sectors.
