Role Summary and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for managing procurement of packaging materials, key services, capital expenditure items, MRO, and project-related purchases, emphasizing cost efficiency, timely delivery, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

• Develop sourcing strategies aligned to category objectives ensuring cost, quality, delivery, and performance targets are consistently met with stakeholder consensus.
• Leverage advanced procurement tools including eProcurement, Total Cost of Ownership analyses, and Clean Sheet costing approaches to maximize value and introduce new technologies.
• Create strategic and innovative sourcing solutions specifically for packaging procurement.
• Establish and maintain partnerships and contracts concerning key services, manpower, CAPEX, and project-based requirements.
• Oversee contract formation and supplier relationships to ensure budget compliance and project timelines.
• Design improvement roadmaps to optimize processes and establish strategic vendor partnerships.
• Lead cost-saving initiatives by streamlining tasks and removing non-essential activities.
• Assist in evaluating supplier and service provider quality and define criteria for vendor selection.
• Manage quotation collection and negotiate based on total cost of ownership to secure best pricing options.
• Analyze demand trends and supply markets to obtain optimal value without compromising quality standards.
• Ensure vendor adherence to regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards and facilitate their onboarding in SAP systems.
• Produce comparative analyses and lead cost negotiations drawing on competitive auctions or quotations.
• Prepare and disseminate Management Information System reports featuring critical insights and analyses.

Key Skills and Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience managing supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Deep understanding of SCM processes and its impact on business profitability.
• Minimum educational qualification: Any graduate, preferably B.Tech or MBA in any discipline with a strong grasp of SCM fundamentals.
• Proficient knowledge of procurement strategies including import procurement procedures.
• Strong IT skills including working experience with SAP or Oracle ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to stay updated with market trends and adopt swift solutions accordingly.
