SAP Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Software Engineer with specialized expertise in SAP development to enhance our IT department. This position involves architecting, developing, and maintaining sophisticated SAP applications and collaborating with diverse teams to translate business challenges into efficient technical solutions. The role focuses on driving operational excellence through the successful delivery of SAP projects and software innovations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, creation, testing, and deployment of SAP solutions, including customizations, enhancements, and integrations utilizing SAP BTP, ABAP, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, CAP, and HANA Cloud technologies.
• Engage in comprehensive SAP project cycles from gathering and analyzing requirements through to live deployment and ongoing support.
• Offer technical mentorship and direction to junior developers, enforce best coding practices and standards, and promote continual professional development through code reviews and guidance.
• Collaborate intensively with project managers, functional experts, and stakeholders to understand needs and implement effective SAP solutions.
• Apply Clean Core principles, develop cloud-native applications on SAP Cloud Platform technologies, and advocate cloud-native methodologies.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, test plans, and user manuals to support SAP systems.
• Ensure sustained operational support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of SAP environments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive SAP hands-on experience, particularly in developing and enhancing solutions with RICEFW, RAP, and OData frameworks.
• At least two years' involvement in SAP BTP platform implementations focusing on application development, automation, and data analytics.
• Proficient in ABAP programming including RESTful services, Core Data Services (CDS), and modern extensibility techniques.
• Solid expertise with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and OData services integration.
• Familiarity with core SAP modules such as SD, MM, and FI/CO.
• Knowledge of BTP tools and services including SAP Build Work Zone, Business Application Studio, and version control using GIT.
• Experience building cloud-based SAP applications utilizing the SAP BTP ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with SAP HANA and S/4HANA, including upgrade projects from ECC to S/4HANA with necessary code adjustments.
• Understanding of SAP Cloud Platform, RISE programs, and integration technologies (IDocs, RFC, BAPI, SOAP, REST).
• Design and development of reusable, flexible global technical architectures and frameworks.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Knowledge of emerging SAP technologies like AEM, SAP Datasphere, Flexible Workflow, and Joule is advantageous.
• Experience with SAP Automotive Suite or comparable industry-specific solutions is a plus.

Work Arrangement

The position operates under a hybrid work model requiring presence onsite in Limerick at least three days a week.
