Role and Responsibilities
- Carry out daily safety inspections within mining operations to detect unsafe acts and hazardous conditions, ensuring prompt corrective measures.
- Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and conduct risk evaluations for critical mining operations.
- Manage and supervise the Permit to Work (PTW) system for high-risk tasks such as Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, Electrical Isolation (LOTO), Excavation, and maintenance of heavy machinery.
- Oversee the safe functioning of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM), including equipment like excavators, dumpers, dozers, graders, loaders, and drilling machines.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during drilling, blasting, excavation, material loading and hauling, crushing, and handling activities as per approved procedures.
- Inspect haul roads, mining benches, slopes, access ways, and traffic systems regularly to maintain safe mining conditions.
- Monitor and evaluate lifting activities; inspect cranes, lifting gear, tackles, slings, and accessories to verify compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct routine checks on electrical setups, portable devices, and machinery to affirm safe operation and conformance with regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate safety induction sessions, toolbox discussions, emergency response drills, and job-specific safety briefings for staff and contractors.
- Promote the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safe working practices throughout mining activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E) in any of the following disciplines: Petroleum Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics, Nuclear Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
