Primary Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and compile safety data to support SkyWest’s safety initiatives.
- Monitor and communicate trends and emerging safety risks through detailed safety assurance data analysis.
- Track key performance indicators for the Safety Department, such as Flight Severity Index (FSI) events.
- Deliver presentations of data analysis results during safety meetings, investigations, and Safety Risk Assessments.
- Prepare reports for partner safety metrics, internal/external safety meetings, and Safety Committees.
- Produce ad hoc reports to support investigations and proactive risk assessments.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau and other tools to promote safety efforts.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely dissemination of safety information.
- Identify and report workplace hazards through established safety programs.
Required Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in data analytics, statistics, or related analytical disciplines.
- Minimum of two years’ experience performing data analysis or related roles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex findings for leadership and stakeholders.
- Experienced in Microsoft Excel and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy.
- Proficiency with Tableau dashboards, including creation and maintenance.
- Ability to collaborate within teams and handle multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aviation safety assurance programs like ASAP, FOQA, and LOSA.
- Familiarity with Excellence through Quality (EtQ) Reliance software and Aviation SMS frameworks.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and corporate policies.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing operational, safety, or risk management datasets.
Physical & Location Details
- Remote work is allowed; candidates can also be based in Salt Lake City or St. George, Utah.
- Ability to work for extended durations seated at a computer.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- This is not a safety-sensitive position regulated by the Department of Transportation.
Compensation
The annual salary range is $37,000 to $52,000, with initial salary offers reflecting relevant experience, certifications, and educational background.
