Job Overview
The Route Supervisor at Alsco Uniforms plays a vital role in supporting the Service Department's mission to deliver exceptional customer service consistently, while assisting with oversight of route districts. Reporting to the District Manager, this role provides leadership to ensure productivity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate development of a productive district team through continuous training, daily check-ins, routine meetings, and route supervision, fostering a positive work atmosphere and solid relationships with Route Service Representatives (RSRs).
- Assist the District Manager in maintaining high customer loyalty by conducting customer visits, audits, problem solving, installations, and clear communication and negotiation with clients.
- Lead the district to success by implementing changes and policies, evaluating route organization, projecting professionalism, and collaborating with other branch departments.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety standards including Service Standard Operating Procedures, evaluate service processes, and propose improvements.
- Perform general route responsibilities when required, safely operating company vehicles and adhering to laws and company rules.
- Support customer retention and growth efforts including sales initiatives, promotions, contests, and maintaining appropriate product mixes to enhance relationships.
- Execute all duties of an RSR when needed with an advanced managerial outlook, monitoring route and RSR performance.
- Act as Route Relief or Utility RSR as necessary.
- While running routes, promote upselling, cross-selling, sampling of products, maintain profitable product combinations, track competitors, and ensure service agreements are up to date.
- Follow all instructions and additional tasks assigned by supervisors.
Additional Duties
- Collaborate with other service staff and provide assistance per supervisory requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License with at least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record without chargeable accidents or violations.
- Strong customer service skills combined with route sales experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities in English, capable of following directions, good time management, and teamwork orientation.
- Ability to recognize colors, product sizes and types, and perform accurate arithmetic including counting, addition, and subtraction.
Education
Completion of High School or equivalent practical experience is required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work frequently takes place within the branch's geographic area.
- Job involves operation of vehicles on public roadways and working inside and outside customer sites, including loading zones typical of industrial laundry facilities and service centers.
- Tasks include sitting, grasping, driving, stooping, kneeling, reaching overhead, walking, lifting up to 75 pounds, standing, writing, speaking, and hearing.
Compensation and Benefits
- The position offers an hourly wage of $32.00.
