Role overview

After receiving an assigned area, the room attendant carries out routine cleaning and end-of-stay cleaning duties to help keep patients, visitors, and staff in a safe environment. The role also supports excellent customer service by reflecting the organization’s core values in all interactions with both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

No formal education is required for this role. However, the ability to speak and understand English is needed to follow instructions and respond to patient and staff requests. The candidate must also be able to read and understand chemical labels.

No prior experience is required. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Previous housekeeping work, especially in a healthcare setting, is also preferred. No registration, license, or certification is required.
