About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and proficient RO Water Plant Operator to manage the routine operations, monitoring, and upkeep of our fully automatic PLC/SCADA 1.5MLD Reverse Osmosis water treatment facility located in Chhatral, Gujarat. The role involves ensuring continuous production of high-quality treated water while maintaining safety standards, environmental compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and control the consistent functioning of RO units, pre-treatment filters (such as sand/media filters, softeners, cartridge filters), and post-treatment processes.
- Monitor operational parameters including flow rate, system pressure, pH, TDS, conductivity, and temperature to maintain optimal performance.
- Conduct regular chemical dosing of antiscalants, chlorine, and sodium metabisulfite and adjust feed rates appropriately.
- Implement preventive maintenance tasks on pumps, valves, piping, meters, and dosing equipment.
- Assess membrane condition, differential pressure, and fouling; assist with or conduct Clean-in-Place (CIP) membrane cleaning procedures.
- Identify mechanical or operational faults; perform minor repairs or escalate complex issues promptly to maintenance teams.
- Collect water samples from different treatment stages for routine laboratory tests including TDS, hardness, free chlorine, and pH.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including safe handling and storage of hazardous chemicals with proper PPE compliance.
- Maintain updated logbooks, digital records, and reports to support regulatory requirements and internal audits.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Minimum high school diploma or ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 5 years operating Effluent Reverse Osmosis plants.
- Technical knowledge of water chemistry, filtration, and membrane technologies.
- Experience with Clean-in-Place (CIP) processes for membrane cleaning.
- Ability to interpret gauges, flowmeters, pressure sensors, and control panels; familiarity with PLC/SCADA is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
