Risk Coordinator

About the role

Hatch is hiring a Risk Coordinator to help deliver the Ma’aden Aluminium Recycling Project in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This position sits within the Project Controls function and focuses on strengthening the project’s risk management process so that risks and opportunities are identified early, evaluated properly, tracked consistently, and communicated clearly across the project lifecycle.

The role works closely with teams in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, Cost Control, and the client side to support sound decision-making and improve project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the project Risk and Opportunity Registers current and follow up on mitigation actions.
• Organize risk identification sessions and assist with both qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
• Review and assess risks that may affect cost, schedule, safety, quality, procurement, construction, and execution.
• Prepare risk dashboards, reports, heat maps, and key risk indicators.
• Take part in risk review meetings and share status updates with stakeholders.
• Work with Planning and Cost Control teams to reflect risk impacts in forecasts and contingency planning.
• Follow Hatch, Ma’aden, and project risk management procedures and compliance requirements.
• Support lessons learned activities and help build a proactive risk-aware culture across the project team.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in project controls, risk management, project planning, cost control, or project management.
• Background on mining, metals, industrial, infrastructure, or EPC/EPCM projects.
• Middle East project experience will be considered an advantage.
• Working knowledge of project risk principles and ISO 31000.
• Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and risk management tools.
• Understanding of project controls, scheduling, forecasting, and cost management workflows.
• Strong analytical ability along with reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• PMI-RMP, PMP, or an equivalent risk certification is preferred.
• Core strengths should include risk analysis, stakeholder engagement, problem solving, planning, data reporting, collaboration, attention to detail, and proactive risk thinking.
