Key Duties

• Research and identify relevant newsworthy events and stories.
• Conduct interviews and collect data from multiple sources to ensure coverage comprehensiveness.
• Write clear, accurate, and engaging news articles tailored to the audience.
• Create supplementary multimedia content such as photographs, brief videos, or audio snippets.
• Collaborate closely with editorial staff to polish stories and meet production deadlines.
• Stay alert to local and regional developments, rigorously verify facts, and comply with editorial and ethical standards.
• Engage with the audience by addressing inquiries appropriately and represent the organization professionally during public and press gatherings.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong reporting capabilities including interviewing, validating facts, and developing reliable sources.
• Excellent writing proficiency specialized in news style for producing precise and compelling content.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with sources, team members, and readers.
• Basic multimedia skills, including photo capture and recording videos or audio, as well as use of digital publishing tools.
• Knowledge of journalistic ethics, meticulous attention to detail, and capacity to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Educational background in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related discipline is favorable.
• Competence with online research techniques and familiarity with newsroom collaboration software.
