Position Summary
This role seeks dedicated English Language Arts content instructors to teach elementary-level ELA online focusing on reading, speaking, and writing skills within the US context. Teachers will conduct live sessions based on Think Academy's curriculum, engaging young learners in literacy development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct live online ELA classes targeting reading, speaking, and writing.
- Prepare structured lessons aligned with Think Academy's curriculum materials.
- Manage virtual classrooms with up to approximately 10 students.
- Evaluate student assignments, provide timely feedback, and monitor progress.
- Maintain professional communication with students and parents about academic goals and performance.
- Engage in ongoing training, curriculum discussions, and professional growth activities.
Candidate Qualifications
- Native-level fluency in American English.
- Experiential background teaching ELA in US public, private, or charter schools, especially grades 1–4 preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with a preference for Education, English, or ELA-related fields.
- Strong knowledge of elementary reading instruction, literacy development, and writing support techniques.
- Comfortable with online teaching platforms and virtual classroom control.
- Passionate, student-focused, and effective in motivating young learners.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting rate of $35 per teaching hour.
- Additional $16 to $20 per hour for non-teaching tasks including preparation, grading, parent communication, and feedback.
- Eligibility for performance-based student retention bonuses.
- Potential extra pay for lesson planning, training, and professional development activities.
- Flexible work schedule suitable for part-time educators.
Work Details
- 40 hours weekly, mostly scheduled during afternoon and evening US time zones including weekends.
- Preference for commitment to at least one full academic semester (Spring/Summer/Fall).
