Quantity Surveyor

Overview

We are seeking a commercial professional ready to play a vital role in water infrastructure projects that impact local communities. This position is the commercial core of our Engineering team, supporting project managers to ensure projects are delivered both on schedule and within budget while upholding our quality standards. The role values technical expertise and encourages continual professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer all Engineering contracts, predominantly NEC framework agreements.
• Assist Project Managers with contract administration and commercial negotiations.
• Contribute to drafting NEC-compliant contracts and support the technical team in preparing compliant work information and scopes.
• Provide monthly reports on project performance against key performance indicators.
• Evaluate pricing and risk components in tender returns, quotations, or pricing documents.
• Compile directorate reports covering forecast completion dates, costs and values to date, forecast outturns, and planned completions for managed projects.
• Promote and enhance departmental processes and procedures, including contract amendments as required.
• Support Health, Safety, and Wellbeing initiatives by conducting site visits and safety observations to maintain safe working environments.
• Engage in relevant company-mandated training with an emphasis on NEC contracts and pursue RICS chartership status.
• Manage Early Warning, Compensation Event, and Risk management tools as well as business systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
• Strong team leadership and management capabilities.
• Excellent skills in report writing, editing, and verbal communication.
• A delivery-oriented mindset paired with good organizational and team collaboration skills.
• Experience in quantity surveying or contract management within construction, with practical knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration.
• Familiarity with relevant Health and Safety regulations affecting the work area.

Compensation
