Role Overview

The Quality Control Inspector position is a full-time, on-location role based in Brigden, ON. The primary function is to inspect fabricated and installed mechanical components to ensure they comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Responsibilities include performing detailed visual and dimensional inspections, reviewing welding procedures and associated documentation, compiling QA/QC reports, and collaborating closely with project supervisors and trade personnel to address non-conformities.

The inspector actively monitors quality assurance processes both in the shop and on-site, contributes to continuous quality improvements, ensures safety and quality criteria are adhered to, maintains comprehensive inspection records, and participates in quality reviews before and after projects.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Proficient in quality control and inspection techniques for mechanical, piping, and related fabricated or installed systems.
• Knowledgeable about Quality Assurance and Quality Management methodologies, including documentation control and adherence to industry standards.
• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with supervisors, tradespeople, clients, and other stakeholders regarding quality issues.
• Familiarity with welding processes, high-pressure piping systems, and standards such as ASME and CSA considered advantageous.
• Experience within industrial, construction, or mechanical contracting environments preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection reports accurately.
• Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities and a commitment to safety in both shop and field settings.
• A technical diploma, trade certification, or qualification related to quality inspection or a similar field is an asset.
