QA Engineer / Software Tester

Role overview

This position is for a meticulous and quality-focused QA Engineer / Software Tester who will help make sure software applications work reliably, perform well, and meet both business goals and user expectations. The role centers on testing activities that improve product quality and support dependable software delivery.

What you will do

You will be involved across the software development lifecycle, from reviewing business and technical requirements to building test strategies, writing test plans and test cases, and carrying out both manual and automated testing. The role includes checking software behavior, usability, speed, security, and compatibility across different platforms and environments.

Testing coverage may include functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, user acceptance, and performance testing where relevant. You will also log, prioritize, and monitor defects, work closely with developers to fix issues, confirm bug resolutions, and help ensure releases meet quality expectations.

In addition, you will support test automation by creating and maintaining automated scripts, contributing to CI/CD workflows, and helping improve testing frameworks and QA practices. The role also involves keeping test records up to date, reviewing quality data, taking part in code and requirements reviews, and suggesting process enhancements that improve software quality and team efficiency.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a similar field is required. A professional certification in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, Agile, ISTQB, or a related area is considered a plus.

Applicants should have a good grasp of testing methodologies, QA principles, and the SDLC. Practical familiarity with manual and automated testing, regression, integration, system, API, performance, and user acceptance testing is important. Understanding defect lifecycle management, test planning, test case design, and quality metrics is also expected.

Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar is an advantage, as is experience with test automation frameworks, SQL, version control, CI/CD pipelines, issue tracking tools, and test management platforms.

Strong troubleshooting ability, excellent accuracy, good organization, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to handle multiple testing tasks while meeting deadlines are all important. The right candidate should be adaptable, proactive, committed to learning, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
