Job Summary

Join AECOM's Dublin office as a Project Scheduler. You will play a key role in developing and managing detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 to support complex infrastructure programs, ensuring timely and accurate program delivery aligned with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive project schedules and Gantt charts based on first principles aligned to the Delivery Programme’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Define and document all project activities, milestones, tasks, and deliverables across all project phases, including Feasibility, Design, Planning, Procurement, Construction, and Operational Readiness.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to set realistic task durations, sequencing, and resource requirements.
  • Develop and manage dependencies, logic ties, leads, lags, and float to accurately establish the critical path.
  • Integrate individual schedules into a master programme schedule in Primavera P6 for portfolio-level oversight.
  • Update and maintain project schedules monthly to ensure integrated master programs reflect current progress for enterprise reporting.
  • Review contractor schedules, conduct risk assessments and critical path analyses during tender evaluations and delivery phases.
  • Evaluate the impact of project changes and variations on schedule, budget, and risks.
  • Support Earned Value Management implementation and monitoring across projects.
  • Prepare program performance reports for project management and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop cost-loaded schedules for cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support within project controls, including data analysis, validation, and summary document preparation.
  • Facilitate scheduling workshops and meetings with design consultants, contractors, and internal teams to align on methodologies and delivery strategies.
  • Coordinate with pre-construction, design, construction, and capacity planning teams for project kick-offs, budgeting, and scheduling construction timelines.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to evaluate schedule impacts from design, material, or methodology changes.
  • Work closely with Cost & Risk Management teams to support spend forecasting, risk identification, and mitigation.
  • Perform analysis and generate summary reports to aid decision-making by the Programme Controls Manager.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative scheduling team culture focused on continuous improvement and ownership.
  • Establish and maintain professional, proactive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide prompt, accurate scheduling information and responses to support effective program delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive experience in project planning and scheduling within infrastructure sectors.
  • Proficiency in consolidating multiple schedule inputs and performance data into a unified master scheduling platform with precise reporting.
  • Proven ability to develop critical path method schedules from first principles, lead planning workshops, and engage project teams to establish sound schedule logic.
  • Competence in defining and managing progress measurement and reporting procedures alongside contractors and delivery partners.
  • Experience managing large capital infrastructure programs with multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
