Overview
This role supports a partner company and is based in the United States. The Project Manager - Logistics Transformation will lead significant initiatives aimed at enhancing logistics operations, boosting operational excellence, elevating customer experiences, and improving overall business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and harmonize logistics transformation initiatives focusing on operational excellence, automation, logistics technologies, and customer service improvements.
- Develop detailed project plans encompassing scope, schedules, resources, and deliverables across multiple cross-functional teams.
- Manage several projects concurrently ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
- Establish and maintain project governance, tracking performance through KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
- Deliver executive reports, updates, highlight risks, and present recommendations to senior management.
- Oversee budgeting, funding management, and efficient resource distribution to optimize productivity and ROI.
- Identify risks, opportunities, dependencies, and areas for improvement with proactive mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Advocate and implement Lean methodologies, continuous improvement practices, and structured problem-solving within logistics operations.
- Conduct Kaizen events aimed at waste reduction, efficiency enhancement, and better customer outcomes.
- Drive decision-making processes based on performance data and operational metrics.
- Foster a culture of innovation and ongoing improvement consistent with Lean principles.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related fields; an MBA is advantageous.
- Minimum of 6 years in project management, with a focus on logistics, operations, or enterprise transformations.
- Proven success leading complex projects within large, matrixed, or global organizations.
- Strong expertise in Lean management, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving approaches.
- PMP certification required; ASCM/APICS certification is a plus.
- Experienced in operational transformation programs including ERP and supply chain management system deployment.
- Ability to lead teams, influence diverse stakeholders, and manage organizational change effectively.
- Well-developed analytical skills to interpret data, recognize trends, risks, and identify optimization opportunities.
- Experience creating project governance models, tracking performance indicators, and managing senior leadership reports.
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills across hierarchical levels.
- Adept at solving complex problems, delivering practical solutions, and handling multiple priorities in dynamic settings.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
