Role overview
Gulf Associates is seeking a Project Manager Intern to help coordinate active workstreams and support senior advisors on complex commercial assignments. The firm takes a practical approach to advisory work, focusing on real-world investment decisions rather than generic consulting-style reports. In this role, you will contribute to a fully remote internship while supporting a Berlin-based client on partnership structures and market-entry strategy.
What you will do
- Keep project schedules on track and make sure internal research outputs are completed by the required deadlines.
- Arrange calendars and align timelines between senior partners and outside stakeholders so work can move forward smoothly.
- Help prepare project briefs and progress updates for ongoing client work.
- Set up and maintain internal file systems and documentation spaces for commercial advisory matters.
- Monitor important milestones for the Berlin-based partner and alert leadership if additional resources may be needed.
- Carry out basic commercial research to support scenario planning and counterparty review.
- Capture discussion points and next steps from internal meetings and briefings with senior stakeholders.
- Check internal reports for clarity, structure, and logical flow before they are shared with senior partners.
What we are looking for
- An academic foundation in business, the humanities, or social sciences, with evidence of disciplined research habits.
- Strong planning and multitasking ability, especially across several smaller tasks at once.
- Writing that is crisp, direct, and grounded in evidence rather than unnecessary polish.
- Curiosity about commercial activity, including how investments are made and how market decisions are reached.
- Basic comfort using spreadsheets and simple project-tracking tools.
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting while remaining responsive to a distributed team.
- A structured approach to solving problems and close attention to detail when reviewing documents.
- Dependability in meeting deadlines and updating senior colleagues on progress clearly.
What you can expect
- Close exposure to senior partners who stay actively involved throughout commercial negotiations.
- A remote working setup that values outcomes more than office presence.
- A paid internship with a monthly stipend that is described as competitive for the role and market.
- The chance to learn how family groups and sovereign entities think about deploying capital.
- Hands-on project management experience in a specialist, results-driven advisory environment.
Working style and culture
Gulf Associates emphasizes practical commercial judgment over theory. The team prefers straightforward, actionable advice instead of lengthy reports created just to add volume. Because the firm works on a limited number of active engagements, every team member is expected to understand the core logic behind each deal. The environment is highly accountable, with senior leadership present in every negotiation and a strong expectation that everyone operates with the same level of commitment to real-world outcomes. As an intern, you will gain direct exposure to how complex partnerships are negotiated and resolved in the market.
