Role overview
John Holland is hiring for the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project, the biggest infrastructure initiative in South Australia’s history. The project is building its precast workforce and is welcoming both experienced and entry-level candidates for a range of site-based roles that support the construction of South Australia’s future.
This opportunity suits people who like practical work, enjoy being part of a team, and want to contribute to a long-term project they can be proud of. The role is based at two precast facilities near Adelaide’s CBD, in Waterloo Corner and Angle Park, and work will follow a rotating roster with shift duties.
Available positions
The project is recruiting across both unskilled and skilled roles.
- Unskilled roles: labourers, gatekeepers, logistics staff, and storepersons.
- Skilled roles: concreters and formworkers with finishing and patching experience, concrete pump operators, entry-level mould operators, crane operators with dogging and rigging experience, drivers licensed for HR, HC, MR, or MC vehicles, and precast segment inspectors with QA/QC experience.
What the work involves
The position is focused on hands-on production and site support within the precast team. Depending on the role, work may include general labouring, material handling, gate and logistics duties, store operations, concrete and formwork tasks, pump operation, mould operation, lifting and rigging support, driving heavy vehicles, or quality inspection work.
What the company offers
- Double-time pay on all overtime.
- A strong site allowance plus redundancy contributions.
- 26 rostered days off each year.
- An opportunity to work toward a Certificate III qualification.
- A guaranteed pay increase over the next three years.
- Permanent ongoing employment.
- A pathway into a higher-paid career in construction.
Who this role suits
No formal qualification is required for the unskilled opportunities. John Holland is looking for people who work safely, stay positive, follow instructions, learn quickly, and contribute well in a team. The role also suits candidates who are comfortable with physical work and practical, hands-on tasks.
Previous experience in construction, concrete, precast, or factory environments is useful, but it is not essential.
Why join
This is steady, ongoing work on one of South Australia’s most important infrastructure projects. You’ll be part of a team that prioritises safety, supports training, and offers the chance to develop new skills while contributing to a project with a lasting impact on the state.
How to apply
If you’re looking for a practical job with room to grow and the chance to help deliver a major Australian infrastructure project, this could be the right fit.
