Production Manager

Role overview

Enviro Tools Limited is a compact trap manufacturing business based in central Petone, Wellington. The company is seeking an organised, self-driven Production Manager to oversee day-to-day factory activity, coordinate closely with the owner and assembly team, and help ensure orders are completed on time and to the required quality standards for both local and overseas customers.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incoming orders and respond to customer enquiries by email and phone.
• Plan assembly timelines, prioritise work for the team, and keep production moving to deadline.
• Arrange dispatches, monitor shipments, and update customers on delivery progress.
• Maintain accurate stock information in the software system and work with management on parts reordering and demand forecasting.
• Receive incoming parts, unload containers/de-vans, and store materials in the warehouse; this may involve heavy lifting.
• Carry out light forklift-related duties as needed.
• Support assembly operations and perform quality control checks and related procedures.

Working arrangement

This is an on-site, full-time role at the manufacturing site in Petone. Typical working hours are around 8:00am to 5:00pm, or similar.

Skills and attributes

• Hands-on production or manufacturing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership ability with confidence to assign work and keep teams on track.
• Ability to stay effective under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Good computer literacy, with prior exposure to inventory systems and stocktaking preferred.
• Full driver’s licence preferred.
• Forklift licence preferred.

Start date

The role is expected to begin in late August or early September.
