Job Summary
The company is seeking a proactive Procurement Officer responsible for overseeing the complete procurement cycle of goods and services. The role requires ensuring cost-effectiveness and transparency while adhering to company policies. The ideal candidate will support operational efficiency through timely sourcing, managing supplier relationships, and effective collaboration with internal teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Place stock replenishment orders to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Solicit quotations from multiple suppliers and conduct price comparisons.
- Create and issue Purchase Orders using the ERP system.
- Monitor Purchase Order approvals in line with the company's Approval Matrix.
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Coordinate with the Accounts Department regarding payment follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate records of orders and deliveries, resolving any discrepancies with suppliers.
- Work with the Clearing Department to facilitate import/export and customs clearance.
- Track shipments and address any potential delays promptly.
- Generate comprehensive reports covering inventory operations, stock status, and adjustments.
- Assist customers with issues related to logistics and procurement.
- Perform any additional related tasks as delegated by the Head of Department.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Higher School Certificate.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in procurement.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent negotiation abilities and supplier relationship management.
- Sound understanding of procurement workflows and internal control mechanisms.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to evaluate costs effectively.
- Proficient communication skills in both English and French, written and spoken.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Location
This position is based in Camp Benoit, Petite Rivière, Mauritius.
