About the Role
Join Philips as a Procurement Engineer, where you will act as the central liaison managing supplier-related projects encompassing cost, schedule, and technical changes. You'll coordinate procurement efforts across cross-functional teams and serve as a key contact for procurement-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee supplier-facing initiatives and changes impacting cost, schedule, and technical scope, ensuring alignment between multiple teams.
- Create and maintain detailed procurement schedules that support overarching program timelines, facilitating clear communication within procurement and with stakeholders.
- Lead the supplier selection process collaboratively with commodity management partners.
- Promote early engagement of suppliers in development projects to optimize outcomes.
- Facilitate value and cost engineering efforts within Design for Excellence (DFX) principles and value engineering workshops.
- Manage supply chain risk through thorough assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with supplier quality teams to implement improvement actions at supplier factories.
- Support continuous cost reduction initiatives by working closely with R&D, supplier quality, and operations teams.
- Conduct Request For Quote (RFQ) processes and distribute technical documents to suppliers during New Product Introduction (NPI) and lifecycle changes.
- Maintain part setups and oversee cost updates accurately.
- Manage Phase-In Phase-Out (PIPO) planning associated with product introductions and sustaining changes.
- Engage in supplier evaluations and site visits to ensure quality and compliance.
- Align procurement activities within the Ultrasound business with market competition and technology roadmaps.
- Assist commodity management teams with product-specific expertise and identify opportunities for negotiation savings to achieve cost reductions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical, industrial, electrical engineering, or related fields.
- Have a minimum of five years’ experience in hardware design and/or matrixed manufacturing, specifically focused on supply chain or procurement functions.
- Skilled in organizing and leading cross-functional teams effectively.
- Exhibit strong presentation, communication, and negotiation capabilities across various organizational levels.
Work Environment
We emphasize collaborative work, preferring office-based teams to be physically present at least three days weekly. Onsite roles require full-time attendance at company facilities, while field roles generally involve working at customer or supplier locations.
