About the Role

Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG), contributing significantly to the efficient operation of HMP Grendon and HMP Springhill. This role involves a mix of administrative and physical duties such as conducting security searches at entry points, managing deliveries, overseeing visitor supervision, monitoring telephone communications, and operating CCTV. Physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across the prison estate, is an integral part of the job.

Who We Are Looking For

No formal qualifications are required, but strong communication skills and the ability to stay composed in high-pressure situations are essential. Candidates should demonstrate sound judgment, common sense, and be collaborative team members. A full and valid UK Driving Licence is required since driving responsibilities form an important component of this position.

Working Conditions

Expect a dynamic working environment involving various shift patterns, including weekends and nights. While direct prisoner contact is limited and depends on location, occasional interaction may occur.
